knowledge and has the practical and applied nature. It is characterized by integrated multidisciplinary,
great abstraction, wide application and multiple scale of  study objectives.

The basic contents of this course include: collection, processing and organization of spatial data; the principle
and method of spatial analysis and the application of GIS in planetary science.

The teaching methods of this course consist of the oral teaching and experimental teaching.

Through lectures and hands-on exercises, students can master the processes of handling with planetary data
and geological mapping, which can provide a professional skill and a favorable tool for students' employment
and further education.

Grading:

Final Score = (Attendance + Coursework assignment) * 10% + Hands-on Exercises * 30% + Final Exam * 60%
